Active Caseload dips below 1.5% of the Total Cases

In a significant achievement,
The country has achieved this feat in 18 days.
As on 1st February, 2021,
14 States/UTs have not reported any
deaths in the last 24 hours. These states are
With a high number of COVID patients recovering every day
and the sustained fall in the mortality rate,
The country’s active cases have declined further to 1,60,057 in the last 24 hours. The Active Caseload of the country has fallen below 1.5% (1.49%
presently) of the total cases.
11,039 new
confirmed cases were recorded in the last 24 hours in the country, 14,225 new recoveries were registered in the same period. It has led to
a net
decline of 3,296 cases from the total active
caseload.
The total recovered cases are 1,04,62,631. TheNational Recovery rate (97.08%) continues to be one of the highest globally.
The gap between active cases and recovered cases is continuously
increasing and stands at 1,03,02,574.
31States and UTs
have less
than 5,000 active cases.
8 States
and UTs have weekly positivity rate higher than the national average (1.91%). Kerala
has the highest weekly positivity rate of 12%, followed by Chhattisgarh with 7%.
As on 3rd February, 2021, till 8 AM,
more than 41 lakh
(41,38,918) beneficiaries have
received the vaccination under the countrywide COVID19 vaccination exercise.

In the last 24 hours, 1,88,762 healthcare workers were vaccinated across 3,845 sessions.
76,576 sessions have been conducted so far.
The number of beneficiaries being
vaccinated every day has shown a progressive increase.
85.62% of the newly recovered cases are recorded in 8 States/UTs. Kerala has
contributed the highest number to the newly recovered cases (5,747), followed
by
83.01% of the new cases are from 6 States and UTs.
Kerala has reported the highest daily new cases at 5,716.
It is followed by
110 case fatalities have been reported in the past 24 hours.
Five States/UTs account for 66.36%of these.

Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Union Minister of
Health and Family Welfare digitally addressed the students of Shri Ram College
of Commerce on their 94th Annual Foundation Day today.
Lauding the college on its achievements, Dr Harsh Vardhan
noted, “I wholeheartedly appreciate the unwavering determination of this
institute, its faculty members and all stakeholders in contributing towards
nation building by churning out globally responsible citizens, conscientious of
their community, society and the country as a whole.Three years ago, in
February 2017, I had the honour to be present amidst all of you for the
national launch of SRCC Global Millennium Summit, Dubai. I consider it a matter
of great pride that you all continue to bestow your love and affection upon
me.” He congratulated SRCC for being one of
the best colleges for commerce in the continent and for producing notable
alumni in every fieldlike corporate affairs, law, and politics.
Emphasizing on the vision of seeing
Dr. Harsh Vardhandetailed his thoughts on the role of the
youth in lifting
Applauding the efforts of scientists and health
professionals, he observed, “Indian scientists and healthcare professionals
have stood the test of time. While our COVID warriors have sacrificed
themselves to ensure the safety of all of us, our scientists have done a
laudable job by developing the COVID-19 vaccine. I can assure you that the
government is working overtime to meet the challenge of vaccinating 1.35
billion people.”
Dr. Harsh Vardhanended his speech by
quoting Swami Vivekananda, whom he described as a master educationist of
all times, “Education which does not help the common mass of people to equip
themselves for the struggle for life, which does not bring out the strength of
character, a spirit of philanthropy, and the courage of a lion- is it worth the
name? Real education is that which enables one to stand on one’s own legs.”Dr.

Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Union Minister of
Health and Family Welfare digitally presided over the 58th National
Conference of theIndian Academy of Pediatricstoday.
Appreciating the works of
Expressing his happiness on the Parental Guidelinesthat
planned to be rolled this year on about 100 common conditions pertaining to
children by the Academy, the Union minister said, “This would be a very good
and useful document and will be of immense value for Indian Parents. It is even
more commendable that you shall ensure that they will be available in most
Indian languages for the general public.”
He continued, “I appreciate that you have developed online
tools on the basis of revised Navjaat Shishu Suraksha Karyakram (NSSR) module.
Noting the efforts of Indian Academy of Pediatrics in the
state of Madhya Pradesh , Dr. Harsh Vardhan said, “I am delighted that you are
organising a special program for training of trainers, exclusively for Madhya
Pradesh aimed to decrease its Neonatal Mortality.I am hopeful that the program
designed by you in collaboration with Government of Madhya Pradesh will give
encouraging results in the six high priority districts, and shall subsequently
be rolled out in the entire state and thereafter the entire country. I assure
full cooperation from the Government of India in making this program a great
success.”
